Arbor Screen for the Hot Tub by Pony Lawncare and Landscaping Pony Lawncare and Landscaping recently completed a remarkable in Powell, Ohio, designing a beautiful Arbor Screen for a hot tub retreat for a client. This was focused not only on design, but also privacy and outdoor tranquility. The design included a beautiful wooden arbor made of cedar, which we all know is incredibly durable, resistant to decay and has a rich grain. We mixed in some climbing vines that we selected because of their vibrant colors that included clematis and honeysuckle. The plants will take time to grow out, but over time, they will create some pleasant shelter and a sweet aroma. To access the hot tub area, we added some decorative stones so that the transition from landscape to relaxation would be as seamless as possible. A major challenge to overcome was the structural concerns we had integrating the arbor with the environment while making sure it would be structurally sound. We spent massive amounts of time plotting out the foundation and planning for the seasonal environmental changes of Ohio (e.g. expansive footings). We struggled with the budget restraints of the client along with the existing features of the backyard but we still managed to get the client the product they wanted without compromising the integrity of the product. At the end of the day, we were able to build a beautifully crafted, functional space that not only provided the complete sense of privacy the client was looking for, but also improved the overall aesthetic of the backyard. The combination of hard materials and plush greenery gave the client a space to enjoy and relax in or invite their friends over to entertain. The client was delighted with the finished space and repeatedly thanked us for the attention to detail and quality of craftsmanship.
