This modern design has added an additional sense of bolstering the beauty of the property, while also improving the livability of the home itself. At the heart of the is a tranquil courtyard that balances the tranquility of nature with purpose as an outdoor living area. Combining native plants and curated ornamental species to retain interest throughout the year, our native plant landscape design ensures the sustainability of the local ecosystem and biodiversity. Permeable stone pathways that allow drainage and help reduce environmental impact were used, along with stylish teak wood seating that inspires rest and friendship. The site has a lot of topographical variation, a lot of high points and valley points and part of what made this successful was finding ways to create a level pad without cutting a bunch of earth; finding ways to grade the property in such a way that maintains the landscape which was very important to the client. The challenge here was easily overcome by our team through a layered strategy that combined terracing with retaining walls, and it provides an enchanting visual counterpoint to the great courtyard. The end product is an idyllic outdoor escape that the client is pleased with, complete with a water feature that provides an audible background with lit elements throughout the space. The addition of a fire pit surrounded by greenery lends itself invitingly to family gatherings and peaceful nights. Dix.
