RWP by Austin Outdoor Design added on 9/8/2021 Rooftop Patio by Austin Outdoor Design Austin Outdoor Design has completed the 'Rooftop Patio:' a that shows the elegance of outdoor living but also its cleverness. Located in the center of Austin, this hyper-detailed is one of those places you could just retreat to for a few days and collapse into the city. Natural stone pavers mingle with composite decking on the rooftop patio for durability and visual continuity. We used several native plants (Texas sage, for example, along with a few ornamental grasses among other types of greenery) sustainable plantings that love our climate. Planters made out of reclaimed wood amp up the aesthetics, too, while keeping the site sustainable. One of the other big hurdles we had to address was drainage and weight on the roof. A unique drainage system was put in place by our experienced team to avoid water pooling, ensuring the durability of the patio. And, of course, when designing outside in Texas you need shade for comfort we incorporated a modern styled pergola that adds a chic element while also providing relief from the Texas sun. The finished product is a beautiful rooftop retreat that features a warm lounge area, including seating and a fire pit for entertainment or stargazing. LED lighting is strategically placed for a cozy warm feel so the patio can shine even through the dark. The transformation was a huge success with our clients who now enjoy their rooftop patio as their favorite space for both social and serenity.
