"The Misunderstanding of Green Roofs" By Prunin Arboriculture & Landscape, this inventive landscaping changed the perception of green roofs throughout our service areas, like Aliso Viejo, Laguna Beach, and Rancho Santa Margarita, for years to come. Our goal was to provide customers with knowledge on the many benefits of green roofs while creating a beautiful living space that connects to the surrounding area. The abundance of native plants provided an aesthetically pleasing and drought-resistant garden, while the highest-quality and eco-friendly materials, such as a specialized waterproofing membrane and lightweight soils, would ensure longevity and sustainability. Our focus on detail addressed challenging variables relating to structural load requirements and the environment. The structure facilitated a successful scanning inquiry that would not harm the plants if left in the environment. We maintained effective communication with residents throughout the process to mitigate misconceptions on maintenance and costs associated with green roofs. By taking the time to present easy care plant selections and the overall essence of energy-efficient benefits of green roofs, we were able to convert our customer's outdoor space into an ecosystem of success. The ultimate outcome showcased an exceedingly beautiful green roof that not only contributed to aesthetics, but provided increased insulation and reduced heat in an urban environment. The client was extremely pleased with the outcome, while developing more appreciation for green roofs, and the next steps in sustainable landscaping.
