Xeriscape by Happy Gardens Happy Gardens is pleased to share its newest landscape , "Xeriscape." A stunning sustainable landscape solution specifically designed for the arid climate of Fort Worth, Ft. Worth, Westover Hills. This aimed to create an incredible landscape that is both visually appealing and environmentally sound, with limited water needs, while also acknowledging Fort Worth's ongoing drought. The Xeriscape included a wide variety of drought-resistant plants, including native Texas plants such as Agave, Yucca, and a variety #00A4CCof ornamental grasses, arranged into a stunning landscape that provides a balance of color and texture throughout the year. Decorate gravel paths, gravel accent areas, feature boulders, all enhanced the functionality and aesthetics, adding visual interest and assisting with water retention and soil stabilization. The toughest aspect of the was converting a traditional lawn to a low-water landscape which involved ensuring the right plants and materials would do well in a changed environment. We used permeable pavers to allow rainwater to infuse the soil while providing paths that relate and allow our client to navigate without compacting the soil or disturbing the irrigation. The end result of the Xeriscape is a wonderfully complex design that meets the client's visual and sustainability goals, creating an abundance of color and texture while attracting pollinators, and boosting the local ecosystem. The client was thrilled with their new outdoor space, expressed all the changes in their water bill, and helped raise the community standard for aesthetics.
