Adding Natural Curb Appeal Performed by Native Landscapes Inc., the "Adding Natural Curb Appeal" revitalized a suburban property in Southeastern New York into a vibrant display of the beauty of nature. Set against the beautiful backdrop of Western Connecticut, the goal was to enhance the home's appearance in the landscape, while also using native plants to encourage local wildlife. The first step for our team was to inventory the existing landscape and locate some areas that lacked interest or needed renewal. We chose to incorporate a variety of native plants, including flowering perennials, ornamental grasses, and shrubs that were hardy, colourful, and resilient and could support a low-maintenance landscape. Paths created with local stone added rustic appeal while ensuring durability against the elements, and blended well with the surrounding environment. One of the challenges in the was to address the sloping and uneven slopes, which required some grading to create a balanced foundation for planting. The incredible crew approached this challenge as eco-friendly as possible, including rain gardens to catch runoff and promote eco-friendly landscaping practices. The team also installed a custom drip irrigation system, which conserves water while ensuring the health of the newly planted vegetation. The outcome exceeded the expectations of the client's expectations and produced a display of colour and texture that improved the property's curb appeal. The outcome of planning, design, and installation produced an aesthetically pleasing landscape that also provided local biodiversity by attracting butterflies and songbirds to the property.
