This took place in the lovely Chesterfield neighborhood and was meant to be the focal point of our client’s cozy living room, fit with the traditional home décor theme. The fireplace is constructed with beautiful natural stone that was harvested from a local quarry. The rustic, upscale look was carefully designed with a vibrant and warm color palette or earth-tones to better complement the feeling of comfort in the rest of the space. A challenge we faced was the abstract layout of the existing space, which needed precise measurements and out-of-the-box engineering to accommodate the richness of the stone while also adhering to fire and safety codes. The masonry work itself required meticulous craftsmanship to fit and lift each heavy piece of stone into the finished product in a tight space. We hand-placed every stone to ensure care to detail and achieved our craftsmanship standards. We also created a custom reclaim wood mantel to enhance the character of the space. The final product is a beautiful interior stone fireplace that can both heat the home and serve as a conversational piece to gather around as friends and family, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The client was thrilled and felt the fireplace transformed their living area into a warm and accepting space for family gatherings.
