Chelsea Court Private Residence R. Youngblood & Co. recently had the pleasure of transforming a conventional suburban lot into an extraordinary space that combines elegance and nature at Chelsea Court Private Residence. Our team serves the area from Beverly Hills to Metamora and was engaged in creating a new design for this large property while keeping intact the beauty of the lot and not sacrificing curb appeal. The design began with a complete landscape plan which included an unbelievable centerpiece: a custom stone patio made from regional bluestone, which was perfect for entertaining friends and family. The patio is surrounded with perennial gardens that are colorful and make use of many textures to create year-round color in the landscape. There is also a peaceful water element added that is coupled with a pacifying fountain which provide healthy sounds to spaces that are enjoyed outside. The large slope of the land provided some challenges as well. However, the team was able to design a garden area with tiered planting spaces that involved using boulders as retaining walls. These stones provided stabilization for soil erosion while giving the landscape a rustic aesthetic. The walls were also accented with solar lighting in a few areas which illuminate the gardens beautifully with an ambient glow. For the portions of the yard that were grass, we chose a drought tansitional turf variety which not only has a beautiful soft green color but also is moderate to no maintenance grass because it grows well in our area compared to traditional Kentucky bluegrass. Furthermore, utilizing native planting throughout the entire landscape assists in maintaining the conservation of biodiversity and reduces water to upkeep the overall landscape. The final design is a property that not only pleases the client, but also provides a private retreat from the world and embodies their lifestyle through outdoor living.
