Iron Bridge Farms Private Residence At R. Youngblood & Co., we relish the opportunity to reinvent outdoor environments into remarkable destinations. The Iron Bridge Farms Private Residence is a manifestation of our commitment to craftsmanship and quality. Centered in beautiful Oakland Township, the was a comprehensive redesign of the property's exterior while connecting nature to contemporary design. Part of the design process was the client's desire for an inviting and elegant entryway. Subsequently, we created a custom bluestone pathway which is adorned by perennial gardens intentionally planned to carry seasons of color. Bluestone gives a solid entry platform, while complimenting the organic tones of the roofs and landscape. An added complication was the varying grades of the landscape. Therefore, a grading solution was devised that would assist in drainage but also accessibility. Subsequently, a terraced garden was employed, using natural stone walls that would function in stability and beauty. The walls used a regional granite which provided a rugged organic beauty yet solid edges for crews constructing the gardens. Incorporated in the planting scheme were several native plants that will easily survive our regional climate, breed local wildlife and will require minimal maintenance from the client. The final companion to the landscape is a water feature, adding a different exposure to an already soothing atmosphere. Ultimately, the finished product is a phenomenal landscape echoing the client's desires while showcasing our attention to detail and the needed plans for beautiful, functional and high-quality plants. The remaking of Iron Bridge Farms has created a beautiful outdoor environment for our client to enjoy nature but has also created a private escape where the client can host family and friends. R.
