Pergolas from Southern Landscape Design We’re happy to showcase our most recent at Southern Landscape Design: A beautiful custom pergola that increases the enjoyment of the outdoor living experience for a fine home in the heart of the Charlotte, North Carolina metropolitan area. This is a great example of our focus on designing bespoke outdoor experiences while maintaining a proper balance with nature! The pergola was built of a beautiful, durable form of cedar, which is resistant to the elements. It has an attractive lattice design that provides shade and aesthetics. We provided an attractive fixture to supplement the lighting for beauty, comfort, and ambience in the area to enhance outdoor living. The included many landscape features, such as several flower beds, strategically spaced with beautiful perennials and varieties of shrubs for low maintenance, that help frame the pergola while naturally adding color to the . One of the major issues in the was how to best frame and connect the existing patio, as well as preserve actually usable and functional flow, all while integrating the pergola. We challenged our creativity in order to lay out a sketch that not only had a visual element, but also again created functional spaces to either relax or entertain comfortably. The arrangement was carefully considered for sight lines and access, while also balancing usability. The final deliverable exceeded the owner’s expectations. The end result will be a beautiful centerpiece providing just the right amount of shade and work of art, with the surrounding landscaping creating an oasis for family and friends in the future. The is an example of Southern Landscape Design’s quality of craftsmanship and a passion for improving the outdoor living "experience" into an outdoor living retreat.
