Summary: McDonald House Landscaping by Michael Pullen Design, LLC In the center of Norman, Oklahoma, the McDonald House is a testament to the design and creative skill set of Michael Pullen Design, LLC and our commitment to beautifying outdoor living spaces across Blanchard, Cole, Goldsby, Hall Park, Moore, Newcastle, Noble, Oklahoma City, Slaughterville, and Washington. The landscaping at the McDonald House was a well-designed that creatively solved issues of aesthetics and usability. To better understand the existing site conditions, we conducted an exhaustive site study to find out more the benefits and issues of the existing topography and soil types. One of the biggest issues we contended with was the steep slope on the backyard portion of the site, which we worked around with tiered retaining walls made from Montana stone for both stability and organic beauty. For improved aesthetics, the landscape was softened with native plants that are common in our climate, and therefore low maintenance and sustainable, to enhance the appeal of the property. Flower beds with colorful blooms were staged to blossom in succession for three to four seasons of the year. Customized wood paths were installed from reclaimed lumber for directing visitors through lush gardens while maintaining a rustic design approach. A beautiful water feature with a waterfall and pond set the stage for serenity and calmness to relax. The sound of the rushing water and pond made a tranquil mix for enjoying the natural beauty of the area and attracting local wildlife. In conclusion, the landscaping at McDonald House merged a balance of beauty and usability for the landscape of the house. The clients were very pleased, and delighted by the change, and amazed by the integration of design and nature. Michael Pullen Design, LLC has again provided quality and attention to detail with great pride in another successful landscape for years to come.
