Kitchen Garden by ONeill Landscape Design and Installation At ONeill Landscape Design and Installation, we believe that every outdoor space could be functional and beautiful. Our most recent , "Kitchen Garden," demonstrates this belief, taking a small backyard and transforming it into a culinary haven for a family in Beachwood. The included an initial consulting meeting to understand the clients’ wishes. After some meetings we designed a large kitchen garden that featured raised vegetable beds built from naturally rot-resistant cedar that improve drainage and soil health, as well as the layout of the site. Every bed was carefully positioned in the garden to optimize sunshine and create a sense of flow with its planting and overall landscape. A lovely gravel pathway ran between the beds and included aromatic herbs to engage the resident’s senses: - basil, rosemary, and thyme - in addition to the fresh produce. The unlevel terrain and rocky soil challenged the , but we graded to the site and amended the soil to encourage a solid foundation. In the end, a beautiful kitchen garden was produced, filled with tomatoes, peppers, and greens ready for the family to enjoy harvest. The clients were delighted in their dynamics space, not only for the fresh produce, but as an area to gather with friends and family. The further demonstrated our commitment to using quality workmanship and sustainable practices while responding to the clients wishes and desires.
