Summary: Extreme Makeover Home Edition Bastrop GreenScapes Landscaping & Pools happily completed the 'Extreme Makeover Home Edition Bastrop' representing creativity and innovation in landscaping. This redevelopment was in the center of Bastrop and enhanced the natural beauty of the house plus created functional outdoor spaces for family meetings and relaxing. Our process began with a thorough site assessment including understanding the unique challenges that came with a sloped site plus existing vegetation. Our first step was creating terraced garden beds out of local limestone to transition seamlessly from a home to an outdoor space, blending with the natural surroundings while creating a structural support. Next, we chose drought tolerant plants for all year exposure and low water use, which is critical in Texas. A large affordable custom patio area assembled from quality pavers was another feature where people could gather with a built-in fire pit for relaxing evenings watching the stars. A water feature including a waterfall also creates best habitat for wildlife and adds to the overall relaxing ambiance. The most challenging property feature was trying to tie new landscaping design elements into the existing landscape feature. Our staff used skill and precision in pruning and moving existing trees. This preserved the health of existing trees, and enhanced sight lines and the flow of accessibility. The end result was a cohesive landscape where new and old looked appealing being either freshly designed, or very established. When finished, the client was overjoyed with the final design. Elevated curb appeal, and new outdoor living space created a relaxing family gathering place.
