Red Mill Wild Works of Whimsy, LLC is excited to present the 'Red Mill' landscaping , an impressive transformation in the heart of Norfolk, Virginia. This showcases our passion for quality and creativity, offering the homeowners a peaceful sanctuary, while enhancing the character of the local landscape. Our design team began by assessing the site's features, including the charming red mill structure, which inspired the for the . We introduced stone pathways, designed to meander through a garden of native Virginia plant material, ensuring a seamless connection between the installed landscape and surrounding ecosystem. The case of permeable pavers added, functionally, an aesthetic quality as well, by allowing a solution to a drainage problem on the site. A unique part of the was the custom built water feature, inclusive of a waterfall that formed into a pond. The water feature is an attractive element, allowing an auditory element in the owners' experience, while creating habitat for fish and ducks (as an example). The team's task was to create a water feature that integrated properly within the existing landscape, while enhancing the rustic character of the original mill structure. In addition, we included an array of hardscape components such as decorative boulders and handcrafted wood benches, which created lovely areas for sitting and visiting. We selected a variety of drought resistant plants, ensuring a minimal long term maintenance, considering vibrant plant color year-around. The end product represented a great success for the , exceeding the client's 'dreamscape' plea, developing the site into an enchanting oasis, with elegant style, and functionally. The clients communicated their excitement that the new landscape had become the top place for family and friends to gather. Incorporated thoughtful and an imagination for landscaping will resound for many years to come. Wild Works of Whimsy, LLC has created a long-lasting mark in the Norfolk, Virginia landscape.
