Contemporary Patio in Overland Park, KS Meier Landscape Architecture is excited to introduce our , the ‘Contemporary Patio’ in Overland Park, KS. This transformational showcases quality and innovative design concepts tailored to our client’s needs. The patio has a clean modern look and large-format porcelain tiles that sit lightly on the local context. The chosen materials are durable and limit maintenance so that the space will look good for years to come. A custom built cedar pergola provides shade and serves as an anchor point, while the clean lines of the patio serve as a counterpoint. As part of the our team tackled a number of challenges - from uneven grading, to existing systems of drainage - and regraded the site along the way. A new efficient and aesthetic system of drainage was installed as part of the to alleviate any water build-up in order to preserve the installation for the gardens surrounding the patio and co-exist harmoniously. The landscape was curated with careful consideration of plantings for sustainable native interest and additional lighting to enhance the brightness of the patio for evening gatherings. When finished the is a stunning outdoor living area that now seamlessly ties into a work of architecture - an appropriate balance of function, style and the environment.
