Corona Del Mar || by Altera Landscape Located in the beautiful coastal community of Corona Del Mar, Altera Landscape has recently completed a phenomenal landscaping that creates a stylistic interface between nature and contemporary elegance. A diverse selection of native plants was purposefully designed to flourish in the local environment and provide a vibrant and lush habitat that embodies the Southern California lifestyle. The ultimate outdoor landscape included a beautiful collection of drought-resistant succulents, neat flowering shrubs, and tightly designed hardscape. Additionally, custom stone walkways were added, along with decorative granite boulders, to help provide function and visual interest as visitors transition from one area of the space to the next. High-quality materials (locally sourced stones and green mulch) were purposefully selected to ensure longevity while limiting the carbon footprint. As with many s, we faced the challenge of sloped property. Our landscape architects engineered tiered planting beds to utilize vertical space preventing soil erosion while providing a nice visual contrast in the garden. An efficient irrigation system was also installed to promote sustainability while ensuring water conservation and a beautiful plant palette. The culminated in a spectacular outdoor retreat. The space was complete with a seating area throughout the lush landscape offering the client a sanctuary for year-round outside enjoyment. Although the curb appeal of the home was elevated, the simplicity of comfort was satisfyingly fulfilled within their outdoor retreat.
