CDM ||| by Altera Landscape Altera Landscape proudly presents our CDM||| a beautiful transformation within the charming coastal community of Corona Del Mar. This will demonstrate our commitment to quality, innovative design, and thorough understanding of the local ecosystem. The design marries native plant material with hardscape features to create harmony with the Southern California climate. Drought-tolerant plants including succulents and native grasses, were used for colors, texture, and of course, sustainability. The flagstone pathways were designed to encourage visitors to explore, while still providing an overall functional design. One of the most challenging aspects of the was the steep slope of the property. Planning and execution of solutions were essential. Our team coordinated a tiered design and utilized natural stone retaining walls, allowing us to establish flat and usable areas while providing drainage to avoid erosion. This was a great asset that not only accommodated the topographical challenges but provided visual interest in the landscape. In addition to the main courtyard, we added a firepit and lounge area that served as additional features for the outdoors and social engagement. Under the stars and with ambient lighting accenting the garden features, the firepit served the purpose of gathering families and transitioning a daytime space to nighttime. The ending product is a beautiful garden and landscape that meets the clients vision in exceeding their initial desires. CDM||| is a realistic example of both workmanship and detailing, while enhancing beauty to the area of Corona Del Mar. Our team is extremely proud to take part in enhancing the beauty and utility of outdoor spaces in the communities of Irvine, Laguna Beach, Dana Point, or Corona Del Mar.
