About This Project

Deborah Silver and Co Inc. Stumpery Located in beautiful southeast Michigan, the Stumpery was a one of a kind, unique landscape installation done by Deborah Silver and Co Inc. The turned a well-established garden into a glorious stumpery; stumpery is a poetic, ecologically sensitive heavenly device. We scoured until we found the actual reclaimed hardwood stumps, those each having their character and the history of Mom Nature making the perfect table conversation centerpiece. The composition further comprised several species of native plants (e.g. ferns, mosses) that suited the shade formed by the stumps. Not only this, it beautified the place but also bolstered local biodiversity. With a sloping site, for one the site was difficult then, we had a really low base budget. Our talented landscapers also dealt with these challenges by employing clever grading, drainage and similar methods that would keep the various garden features in good shape for many years to come. The natural foliage of trees and shrubs was preserved, which is ideal for plant growth. The end result was a stunning stumpery that fits right into the environment and encourages people to come up close and marvel at the earths craft. The results delighted our client who told us the stumpery became a loved place for family and friends to meet and feel connected to nature.
