About This Project

Sod Sensation by Dr. Dan's Landscaping & Architectural Design The 'Sod Sensation' by Dr. Dan's Landscaping & Architectural Design is located in the gorgeous coastal community of Virginia Beach. This turned a sterile yard into a beautiful, lush oasis that blends into the surrounding landscape. Our staff meticulously designed and installed this with an emphasis on high-end materials and sustainable solutions that are visually appealing and will last. We installed high-end sod types based on the local climate, which significantly enhance the visual quality, while also creating an eco-friendly soil system through increased water retention. We also addressed poor soil quality in the yard by introducing a purpose-designed blend of soil amendments that rejuvenated the soil with key nutrients to promote growth and longevity of the sod. The design process not only included sod installations, but we also included beautiful, curved pathways lined with natural stone that connect the various garden spaces. Cedar and native landscape plants were installed in and around the sod, providing bursts of color and inviting local wildlife, which really promote biodiversity. Furthermore, to avoid pool aging from water accumulation, our team took attention to detail when grading and creating drainage systems, a common issue with the Virginia Beach environment. The end result was a stunning space that modified the customer's living space, transforming a bare yard into their favorite outdoor area, arranged to host family and friends.
