Waterscapes by DSLD Land Management Company, Inc. Located in the lively community of Vestavia Hills, 'Waterscapes' by DSLD Land Management Company, Inc. is a stunning example of the artistry and craftsmanship of our landscaping team. The goal was to convert a standard backyard into a tranquil retreat by creating water features that would bring peace and beauty to the space. At the heart of this is a beautiful multi-tiered waterfall that spills into a custom-built pond for koi, set against a backdrop of native plantings that thrive in the environment. A pleasing mixture of natural stone and boulders was selected and placed to create a natural appearance, appropriate for the bedrock of this part of town. The construction and landscape materials were all eco-friendly as we take pride in being good stewards for the environment. This contains several challenges, such as differing soil conditions and ensuring the grading was correct to allow water to flow properly; however, we implemented a series of drainage solutions that were successful in maintaining the functionality/integrity of the pond and the water features. Other aquatic plants were chosen to be added to the water as they were ideal to create a habitat for wildlife while still being easy to maintain for the homeowners. The end result is a beautiful retreat that the family can enjoy as a part of their everyday lives. You may now sit on the patio and enjoy the flowing sounds of the water or enjoy picturesque views of the backyard. 'Waterscapes' is not just a landscaping , but rather a lifestyle. Feedback from the homeowners shows that the design achieved the aesthetics and functionality that they envisioned as they allowed DSLD to build it based on the guidance of their ideas. The naturally improved the homeowner's property value while enriching their lives and establishing DSLD as an industry leader in the Greater Birmingham area for landscaping artistry.
