Summary: Traditional Front Yard Landscape in Houston, TX Once again, Gregory/Henry Landscapes was pleased to take on a Traditional Front Yard Landscape in Houston, TX. As we serve the greater Houston area including locations like Bellaire, Cypress, and West University Place, our team was asked to take a dated front yard and redesigned it into a visual masterpiece that suited the architectural style of the home. With this , we created a detailed layout using luxurious drought-tolerant plantings that have each been chosen for their hardy compatibility with the local climate. Native Texas plants were included, such as vibrant Azaleas, thrifty Boxwoods, and ornamental grasses to provide year-round interest with minimal water use. A reclaimed brick pathway was included as a transition and rustic charm to guide the visitors through the landscaped area. As always, one challenge was the slope of the property for erosion control and aesthetic appeal. Due to the slope, we designed tiered garden planting using decorative boulders and retaining walls from local stone in some planting zones. Overall the design provided bulky effort and vibrancy in planting zones. Ultimately, we designed a beautiful but functional result. The front yard is now inviting, with performances of gardening inviting exploration and lecturing outdoor lights implemented strategically into the landscape at nighttime. The client was very pleased with the transformation as they perceived an improved curb appeal and relaxation outdoors in their extension of their home.
