Type - Traditional Side Yard in Houston, TX We, at Gregory/Henry Landscapes, completed a stunning Traditional Side Yard in Houston, TX, demonstrating our commitment to quality and craftsmanship. Located in an Uptown neighborhood, this side yard featured classic design and contemporary sophistication. The flower beds were thoughtfully designed with a variety of native plants to support local ecology and maintenance-free upkeep. We added beautiful stone pathways made from locally-sourced limestone. Although timeless in design, these pathways we felt would be better suited for the climate in Houston than brick alternatives. Another consideration when designing the pathways was to minimize erosion. Our professional team dealt with leveling uneven ground, installing proper drainage to prevent pooling during heavy rains, and overall assessing the landscape condition. We created a custom wooden trellis covered with climbing vines as an anchor to the garden. It provides some natural shade and creates a focal point in the garden. The seating area was arranged for the family to enjoy the plantings and the surrounding setting. Eco-friendly, aesthetically pleasing mulch was used to retain moisture in the soil which benefits the plants and a primary sustainable part of our plan at Gregory/Henry Landscapes. In the end we created and designed a comfortable environment that engages nature and design elements enhancing the overall landscape design appeal for the homeowner. The customer galvanized all the efforts and we took to create their vision in transforming an unproductive side yard into a garden. We loved the attention to detail and how and how everything came together as a classic well-designed landscape treatment altogether. s like this really gets us excited providing excellence to all customers of outdoor living whether it's in Bellaire, Bunker Hill Village, or outside these two areas.
