Narrative: Italian Tuscan Landscape The Italian Tuscan Landscape , completed by Nick Martin Landscape Architect Inc., recasts outdoor space to reveal rustic charm and timeless sophistication inherent to Tuscany. This stunning transformation occurred in the scenic region of Rancho Santa Fe, providing the perfect stage for the rich textures and saturated color of the landscape. The features a thoughtfully planned layout that integrates well with the natural environment, utilizing native drought-tolerant plants mixed in with traditional Mediterranean plantings. Bright terracotta pots overflowing with lush bougainvillea and fragrant rosemary aligned the paths, while expertly staggered olive trees provided an authentic touch of shade. The landscape utilizes superior materials, such as handcut stone pavers to construct walkways, and reclaimed timber for garden pergolas to aesthetically provide durability and low maintenance. The design shape and layout also contended with the significant challenge of sloped terrain to create tiered gardens, implementing construction techniques that preserve the natural beauty of the aesthetics. To create transition between the levels, the team utilized local stone for accepting retaining walls. This all-producing an extraordinary finished product featuring a peaceful courtyard and beautiful water feature as the atrium of the produced a calming sound track to the landscape.
