The purpose of the landscaping is to create a space that resembles a peaceful oasis that not only complements and enhances the natural beauty of the property, but is also reflective of the value of the local environment. This evocative design includes native plantings of wildflowers, ferns, and shrubs that provide beauty year-round and habitat for wildlife. In order to promote sustainability we have designed the landscape with permeable pavers for pathways in addition to natural stone for seating areas all sourced [locally] to [fit in with] the natural landscape [surrounding this site]. One of the biggest challenges of this was working with the different grades of the site and roots of existing trees that surrounded the area. Our talented team worked through these challenges guided by innovative grading methods and clever plant selection to create continuity across the property. They include practical space for the homeowners to use as a garden, with raised garden beds and a delightful woodland trail to promote exploration and interaction with nature. The end result is a beautiful and liveable outdoor family room that represents calm and beauty, showcasing a variety of textures and colors that evolve and change with the seasons. These happy clients now have a a peaceful retreat to unwind and enjoy the outdoors, complementing the established woodland environment. Elizabeth Gourley Design is known for its quality and craftsmanship and together we created a landscape for Belmont Woodland that is sure to stand the test of time as a beloved refuge for decades.
