Arlington Oasis by Elizabeth Gourley Design Set in the middle of a rather hectic neighborhood, the 'Arlington Oasis' showcases a merging of architectural styling by Elizabeth Gourley Design that brings the home and landscape together as one. The landscape design focused on an entirely new suburban backyard to create a greatly improved functional space and visual aesthetics. Nestled on a modest slope with constrained sun exposure, creating a lively outdoor living space was not without challenges for the design team. The team added a series of terraced gardens, which helped with accessibility while also planting a variety of native, shade-tolerant plants to enhance the local biodiversity. When it came to appearance and longevity the importance of using the right materials clearly came into play. Retaining walls and footpaths: Naturally topped with stone walls and footpaths which contributes a perennial beauty that would tie a room to the environment beautifully. Also, to define spaces, handcrafted wooden arbors were sprinkled to serve as ornate landmarks in the generous greenery. The customizable fire pit encircled by seating, a staple of the Arlington Oasis, is ideal for family get-togethers and evening hangouts. Soft outdoor lighting adds to the atmosphere and allows enjoyment of the space day or night. This concluded the beautifully married outdoor haven that more than met with the clients ideal vision. It has evolved from a yard into a true oasis for peace and celebration a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of daily grind. With the high level of creativity, professionalism, and beautiful landscape design all around us in Arlington, they created another signature property and reached to a wider area of the Greater Boston.
