We had commissioned this to solve the problem of soil erosion on a quaint lakeside property where soil stability was becoming a big problem and was affecting the landscape as well as the waterfront view. The began with an extensive site analysis which informed the specific topographical challenges of the slope and the proximity to the lake. We tapped into sustainable materials- local natives and permeable pavers to provide an eco-friendly solution that improved the aesthetics of the disturbed area all while providing the needed stabilization. This involved the construction of a local stone tiered retaining wall to control water runoff and mitigate erosion. The wall practices a practical feature however also lends a stone-age contact. We added native shrubs and grasses that had been in the ground for decades to ensure soil health and biodiversity, so that the slope would weather the elements well into the future. The ripping pumped from 50m deep during execution was not without challenges, such as steep gradients and restricted heavy equipment access areas throughout the . However, our talented team overcame these challenges using innovative techniques, such as erosion control blankets and graded planting strategies that ensured stability while minimizing maintenance. The end product was a beautifully restored slope in harmony with the lakeside natural environment. The client was overwhelmingly pleased with the , stating the new landscaping not only saved their property but also improved their outdoor living.
