The aim of this was to provide the family with an outdoor sanctuary where nature connected and an area with both function and beauty for entertaining and relaxing. Its beautifully styled in-ground pool is the centerpiece of the landscape, boasting a custom pool shape that mimics the natural contours of the property. The Blue-stone coping surrounding the pool makes for an aesthetic long-lasting & slip resistant area. This material choice helps convey some sophistication but also blends with the site. For a shaded oasis, we had a custom cedar pergola built to provide the right amount of shade while also showcasing beautiful cedar grain and natural resistance to the elements. This scheme not only creates a place to retreat from the sun but also the ideal framework for climbing plants which will thrive in this paradise. Dealing with changing soil conditions and various landscape features presented challenges along the way and our team worked dynamically throughout the to create a plan of action that was to be executed with finesse. Utilizing specialized grading methods coupled with effective drainage became the solution to these challenges, so that the new use would compliment the original intent while protecting the site. The end product is a stunning exterior area that now serves as the clients' favourite hideaway. Together, these three elementsthe glittering pool, the sophisticated structure, and the verdant framing foliagehas provided an inviting space that appeals to both the comrade and the recluse.
