About This Project

Meditation Space by David Font Design In South Africa, David Font Design was commissioned as an interior designer to design a Meditation Space to promote stillness and inner contemplation in the City of Boca Raton. This beautifully incorporates the landscape with components of natural and landform art, and the ideal space for our client to escape into the aesthetics of South Florida. It integrates native plants to enrich the garden (and the surrounding pollen-sucking wildlife) with the plants naturally best adapted to the local climate. Groomed palms and aromatic blooming bushes serve tasteful curtains of privacy to provide a cozy vibe. Furthermore, the flat stone path, made from local stone, meanders through the garden and arrives at a centre meditation area constructed from locally harvested sustainable hardwood, creating a warm, welcoming place to meditate. A major issue we had to deal with was the sloping gradient and we needed to thoughtfully devise ways to level out the area to drain rain down stormwater properly so the landscaping can last long term. Our experienced team navigated these challenges utilizing quality material that can weather the elements without compromising on aesthetics. It takes the shape of a striking Meditation Space that ties into its site. A client filled with joy, an experience away from the ordinary, with calming water features, ambient lighting, and natural textures coming together to offer a moment of peace and tranquillity. It presents a deep attention to quality and detail inherent in anything David Font Design undertakes and becomes a most valued sanctuary for contemplation and reflection.
