Cambridge Residence Nilsen Landscape Design, LLC is delighted to feature the Cambridge Residence , which represents a striking transformation that illustrates the craftsmanship of our landscaping team. Situated in the heart of Cambridge, Massachusetts, this residential required a comprehensive methodology that served both function and aesthetic. The design we implemented included a delicate balance of natural plantings, thoughtful hardscaping, and inviting outdoor living spaces. We used durable weathering materials, including reclaimed bluestone and permeable pavers, which would serve functionally as a visual element in the pathways and patios while also working with the environment. The custom fire pit framed with natural boulders became the focal point of a cozy gathering area for family evenings and entertaining guests. A major factor in this was the steep slope of the property which called for inventive solutions to terrace the landscape. Our team was able to develop retaining walls with locally-sourced granite to create levels that add interest to the site while facilitating drainage. We enhanced the low-hassle garden with drought-resistant plant selections. The end product is an attractive outdoor oasis that works hand-in-hand with the architecture of the home. Lush plantings, colorful garden beds, and trees incorporated are a visual separation from neighboring properties while connoting serenity.
