About This Project

Lexington Historic Home Nilsen Landscape Design, LLC is excited to share the landscaping at the Historic Home in Lexington a true representation of the rich history of the area. Located in the town of Lexington, our team created a beautiful landscape that not only works well with the historical architecture of the home but creates a natural beauty. The was based on the use of native plants to create an aesthetic that helps to support sustainability and ecosystems. We incorporated classic elements such as bluestone walkways to add a historic sense of charm, while using modern and effective irrigation systems to promote healthy plant growth. A beautiful feature element, and outdoor living feature to the landscape was a custom-built pergola that is home to climbing hydrangeas that adds shade and a space for outdoor gatherings. During the layout and specification phases of the , we had the challenge of an uneven landscape, and ultimately had to think outside the box in grading solutions to promote drainage and healthy plant selections. We utilized custom-built raised garden beds that offered a healthy space for colorful seasonal blooms and to address the physical challenges of the site. In its entirety, this is a spectacular landscape of quality and attention to detail. The combination of hardscape and replicated green vegetation has transformed what was once an exterior space into a wonderful and peaceful exterior environment, which brings enjoyment and satisfaction to our clients. The family is very pleased to have such a beautiful landscape that is consistent with the history of the home and offers a space for entertaining within the community.
