About This Project

Scope: Private Residence in Wauwatosa, WI Overview Breckenridge Design, Construction & Maintenance is excited to showcase the renovation of a private residence located in Wauwatosa, WI, where art and craftsmanship created an outdoor living area. This included a full landscape redesign with lush gardens, a beautiful patio, and a relaxing water feature designed to blend into the natural surroundings. The homeowners wanted the backyard to serve as a calming retreat from daily life, thus extending their indoor living space into the outdoors for leisure and entertaining. We carefully evaluated the existing landscape and determined where improvements could be made, while also addressing factors like slope and sunlight exposure. In response to these challenges, Breckenridge installed a tiered garden designed with native plants that flourish in a Wisconsin climate, enabling a beautiful bloom throughout the seasons. High-quality materials for the outdoor renovations were gathered locally. Locally sourced stone was used for the patio, custom-cut flagstone was utilized for the pathways, and the stone patios connected to the gardens and trees beautifully. The patio was designed to include a fire pit with seating in the middle of the patio, ensuring that the outdoor space was suitable for family gatherings in the yard and evening relaxation. Breckenridge incorporated a gracefully designed water feature with an audible element to create a calming ambience in the final design layout. Through collaboration and creativity, all of the design ideas exceeded the client's expectations, and now the backyard creates picturesque living spaces that fit their lifestyle while engaging with the beauty of nature. Breckenridge always aims to provide its clients with a landscape idea to provide the client's satisfaction but ultimately with sustainability and function towards future enjoyment.
