Drought Tolerant Mid Century Modern This work of art is 'Drought Tolerant Mid Century Modern' by Green Republic Landscapes Inc. Based in the heart of L.A, the was designed for the contemporary family, but design should not come at the cost of conservation; therefore, the landscape is approached through the lens of the regional approach to water conservation. Planted exclusively with drought tolerant specimens with the inclusion of Agave, Lavender, and native California grasses; this striking yet low maintenance landscape is a true marvel. Natural stone pathways paired with decomposed granite serve not just to beautify the landscape but also to efficiently manage water flow and thereby help the landscape endure the test of time. Sustainable mid-century design: One of the main design challenges on this was how to create a flowing design uniting all the spaces to capture the clean lines and architectural integrity of mid-century modern homes. Mindfully chosen materials for the raised beds, including locally sourced boulders and reclaimed wood, reflect the bigger picture of both domestic integrity and ecological stewardship. The end result is a balanced courtyard that is a peaceful and social area, complete with a stylish fire pit spot, native greenery, a calming water feature, and lights that bring out the beauty of the design at night. The client was really happy with the final look, appreciated the attention to and craftsmanship. The DRY MID CENTURY MODERN is a landscape that not only embraces the essence of home but also proves that chic, sustainable living is possible in Southern California, with a good landscape showing how smart and stunning can be a perfect paring.
