Get Drought Tolerant-Hillside Green Republic Landscapes Inc. As showcased in this 'Drought Tolerant-Hillside' by Green Republic Landscapes Inc., our sustainable landscaping is nestled in the hills of Los Angeles, surrounded only by the sounds of nature. Specializing from Bellflower to Beverly Hills, we turned a sun-exposed, steep hillside into resilience and beauty. The included a range of intentional choices of drought-tolerant, but thick plants, such as bold succulents, low-water-use but climate-friendly fragrances and native grasses. Natural stone retaining walls are ideal for the design because they make the slope stable while adding a natural element that marries with the existing nature. We also installed a complex drip irrigation to minimize the erosion further and ensure water management while providing the new vegetation. We had several challenges, especially in terms of hillside gradient making access and plant establishment difficult. Fertile terraced beds with grouping added both intrigue and momentum to work well in the land while keeping water on site; executed by our talented crew. We chose plants that do well at different altitudes for a layered, textured look that's pleasing to the eye and good for the earth. The result is a beautiful and low maintenance landscape that also benefits the local ecosystem overall. Needless to say, our client was very happy with the end result, he loved the colors and how peaceful the new garden felt.
