MISC: Folia Horticultural + Design If you'll recall from our recent series of 'Miscellaneous s' posts over at Folia Horticultural + Design, our design skills and creativity know no bounds! From Ballard, and Beacon Hill, to Mercer Island, we had the pleasure of providing a wide variety of highly specific landscaping solutions that enhanced the outdoor spaces of our clients. It included everything from restoration of neglected gardens to custom hardscape installations. For example, we converted a small, typically Seattle urban yard in to a peaceful escape using a combination of native plants, ornamental grasses and a stone path that meanders through the lush landscape. For the hardscaping, we used local basalt and granite that are both durable and attractive. One of the biggest challenges we faced was the fact that each of our sites had vastly different soil types, and we could not assume how the plant will react. The droves of mud, debris, and runoff from the hills into the gardens was mitigated by our experienced crew who installed advanced drainage solutions in the flood-prone areas so that every garden would not only shine but also perform perfectly in the space it lived in. We delivered the final results as per our quality commitment. Both spaces were designed to accentuate the natural beauty of surrounding land, and also serve functionality for our clients' lifestyles. From well-designed seating zones to lively flowerbeds the reviews were great; the customers were glad their transformed landscapes.
