About This Project

Recent Work Mt Baker Residence By Folia Horticultural + Design Located in the peaceful Mt Baker neighborhood, this new by Folia Horticultural + Design infused a traditional garden with character, showcasing an anterior transformation from a grassy and flat space to a lively outdoor room. The homeowners desired space that was both functional and visually pleasing, which we achieved through nearby native plantings, natural materials and inventive hardscaping. One of the 's major features is a stone pathway intended for walking through its neighbouring gardens, built from indigenous basalt for endurance and natural appearance. We incorporated many native plants such as Oregon grape and sword ferns, increasing biodiversity with a lower water footprint. We limited the space with a cedar pergola, which gives some privacy while also creating a focal point and providing some shade, making it possible to use the outdoor space even during early spring and late autumn. This involved overcoming obstacles like a steep hill and shallow soils, which were both solved using terracing and amendments to the soil. They also made drainage and plant health better while making it more attractive. The end product was a well-staged landscape that managed to create a balance between beauty and utility, delighting the homeowners. They have a green, inviting space for entertaining, unwinding, and enjoying nature in their own yard. We are thrilled to play a role in helping Fulcrum find successful resolution and aesthetics for this time-honored Mt Baker home by doing things our way with beautiful and sustainable materials that cultivate a commitment to quality.
