Water-wise Tudor by Deep Rootz Landscape and Design Deep Rootz Landscape and Design is excited to showcase the 'Water-wise Tudor' . This stunning renovation brought together sustainability and beauty. Located in the heart of the East Bay, this was for a quaint Tudor-style house, in a neighborhood that runs from Albany to Lafayette. Our team met the challenge of providing a vibrant landscape that would use as little water as possible while adding to the character of the property. We began with a complete xeriscaping plan, which emphasized the use of drought-tolerant plants that thrive in our climate, including lavender, succulents, and native grasses. The process included reasonable materialspermeable pavers for the walkwaysfor optimum drainage and minimal runoff, which aligns with our environmentally-friendly plan. We created a custom rain garden to direct the existing drainage issues onsite, capturing and filtering rainwater while serving as a beautiful focal point populated with colorful wildflowers and ornamental grasses. This feature enhances the beauty of the property and draws in wildlife, creating a visible ecosystem. We created a dry stream bed lined with rocks that runs from the garden to direct rainwater away from the foundation of the house. We also installed a drip irrigation system for water efficiency in delivering the correct amount of water to each plant. The final result is a gorgeous landscape that evokes the raw beauty of the Tudor architecture while taking modern conservation into consideration. The clients were thrilled with their inviting outdoor space that speaks to their personality and values of sustainability and turned their property into a postcard.
