Summary: Downtown Austin Texas Custom Turf is excited to showcase the 'Downtown Austin' landscape . An innovative and brilliant that reinvigorates the urban landscape in one of the most dynamic cities in Texas. This downtown Austin utilizes contemporary aesthetic principles while maintaining sustainability and landscaping practices that exemplify the commitment to quality and creativity. This design focused on several native plants of Texas that illustrated their desirable drought resistance, allowing for the entire landscape to prosper in the area’s climate. Permeable pavers are implemented to create accessible sidewalks while promoting water movement and drainage and enhancing the overall appeal to entryways. Seating features using indigenous stone types were added to provide comfort for a recreational area amongst the urban surroundings. One of the unique challenges faced was the existing soil condition, which required added amendment before supporting the mix of plant material. This required planning and modification of transportable onsite materials. The team put forth much effort into the remediation of a heavy clay soil through amendment to support the diversity of plants planned for the installation. These materials were organic and sustainable, and the method of irrigation also promoted long-term viability while reducing the use of local resources. The final product created a beautiful and cohesive green space with flower beds, shrub planting, and a mix of tree inventory that brought comfort, shade, and beauty to the . This has added visual appeal to downtown Austin while promoting biodiversity and greenery, illustrating an urban sanctuary of plants. The client was ecstatic their completed, and we can surely say that was dictated by design intentionality. Texas Custom Turf continues to experience growth and notoriety as a landscaping leader in Austin and surrounding communities.
