The large-scale residential landscape features native plants which consist of pine trees, wildflowers, and shrubs. Together they establish a calm and welcoming space to the home, as envisioned by the client. The comfort item that the team addressed was the slope of the lot; which was resolved through the incorporation of multiple tiered plant beds and retaining walls made of native stone to enhance the landscaping and make the environment stable. These beds and walls were made using the most environmentally sound materials and included drought resistant plants that thrive in Texas, producing a comfortable and lush landscape, while assisting in water conservation and reducing maintenance. Natural flagstone pathways gracefully meander across the property, permitting guests to dig in to the landscape. The custom fire pit arrangement made only with native grasses, offers the perfect for families and guests to gather, while enhancing the outdoor living aspect. In the end, the as 'Pine Forest' exceeded the client's expectations. The house provided a complete, amazing, transforming the outdoor experience into a retreat area; which reflected the natural beauty of Texas.
