OUTDOOR LIVING AREAS BY THE SECRET GARDEN The Secret Garden is excited to showcase its most recent landscape endeavor - the 'Outdoor Living Areas,' a remarkable that we recently completed in the Milwaukee metro area, including Bayside, Brown Deer, Cedarburg, Fox Point, Germantown, Glendale, Grafton, Mequon, River Hills, Thiensville, Whitefish Bay, and Shorewood. The design intent was to allow the home to flow seamlessly into the environment and outdoors. The team designed and constructed defined areas for comfort, dining, and entertaining. The main focus of the is a gorgeous, designed and constructed pergola, made of sustainably harvested cedar, both to provide shade and a beautiful focal point. Adjacent to the pergola is a large patio of natural stone pavers, which beautifully contrasts with the greens surrounding the patio. Outdoor lighting was added in strategic locations throughout the living areas to highlight the organized hardscaping and softscaping components, while improving safety for outdoor dinner parties. Challenges such as uneven grades and water drainage were addressed with slope management and top-end drainage materials to ensure longevity in the landscaping. The gardens are lush with a variety of native plants that were also selected for their climate adaptability, enriching the ecosystem with color and providing habitat for butterflies and other pollinators throughout the growing season. The final result is a magical outdoor space that flows effortlessly into the home’s architecture and gives the clients a wonderful space for family gatherings, a cozy respite from work, and simply entertaining friends. The clients were absolutely thrilled with the and expressed their joy and excitement that The Secret Garden created a beautiful retreat in their backyard.
