Rollingwood Residence The Garden Design Studio is dedicated to taking outdoor spaces and transforming them into beautiful landscapes representative of our clients' dreams. The Rollingwood Residence is an outstanding example of our commitment to quality. Located in the beautiful Rollingwood neighborhood, this landscape remodel was designed to complement the natural beauty of the site. A primary issue we had to overcome was the sloping site. We came up with numerous creative solutions to provide a site that is functionally useful and attractive. In the end, we were able to design and construct multi-tiered terraces using locally sourced stone that complemented the architecture of the home, while providing proper drainage and erosion control. We designed the terraces with lush native plants that are acclimated to the Texas environment including colorful drought resistant shrubs and beautiful wildflowers that provide year-round color and texture. Another unique aspect of the Rollingwood Residence was the sound and sight of a relaxing water feature which includes a gentle waterfall flowing into a small pond. The soothing sound of water provides the homeowners with a retreat while attracting wildlife, while adding beauty and sound for the family. The space around the pond was constructed using beautiful flagstone companies, and is perfect for hosting friends and family or just spending the evening watching the stars. In order to maximize functionality the team combined an outdoor kitchen and dining experience, using only the highest quality materials including weather resistant cabinetry and granite countertops to produce an outdoor area that is intended to last for years to come. Throughout the design and construction process, we faced several challenges including establishing proper irrigation, and managing existing trees and their root systems. The team utilized irrigation solutions appropriate for the area, while maintaining the root structure of established trees. Overall, the final is stunning, adding value to the Rollingwood home, while creating a relaxing retreat for the family. The thrilled homeowners now enjoy a full, colorful, garden that highlights their lifestyle, while striking a balance between function and good design.
