We were able to take on a to take a tired and unimaginative front porch and create a gorgeous front porch that improved both curb appeal and usability. The began by assessing the existing space that was not only dated cement but lacked greenery. With a professional landscape architect's touch, we were able to envision a welcoming and picturesque entrance that emulated the architecture of the home and the natural beauty of the surroundings, such as Tumwater and Gig Harbor. In order to achieve this vision, we used a lot of different high-quality materials. The flooring of the porch is pavers, which complimented a timeless yet practical finish. We used a selection of native plants to provide the landscape with a lush and environmentally-sound area that would thrive without three distinct seasons; therefore, the landscape would be low-maintenance for the homeowners. We used elegant stone planters for the entrance area to create depth and layers, as well as a unique wooden railing, which enhanced functionality for safety and style. We encountered some problems, of course, such as uneven ground and existing drainage issues. Overall, careful planning and engineering created a workable solution that addressed drainage and elevation for the design as a whole. The final design incorporates form and function in a space that feels inviting because of all of the design components working together. We loved to reveal the final to whomever is watching the journey. We able to delight with a review of images that address the origin from early design images through the finished images. Overall, it was a delight to share their new outdoor space as we recognized the had transformed the outdoor into a cozy indoor style space; this front area now felt like an extended area to stay outside whether by yourself or host guests and family.
