About This Project

Silverdale Dry Creek Bed Designed by Brookside Landscape and Design, the Silverdale Dry Creek Bed highlights our focus on naturally improving outdoor spaces through unique and sustainable landscaping. Located in Silverdale, the landscape improved an empty space into a beautiful natural feature that solved drainage challenges. The design team was challenged with an uneven grade and poor soil drainage. In response to the challenges the team designed a winding dry creek bed utilizing local river rock and boulders. The dry creek bed gave a natural appearance and flowed well with the adjoining property's landscape. The placement of the creek bed protected the property from erosion and drained excess rain water while recharging the natural ground. In addition to the dry creek bed we incorporated a selection of native plants including ferns and grasses. The native plants not only created a visually appealing landscape but provided habitat for native wildlife, especially insects. The selected plants are all drought resistant and selected for the Pacific Northwest climate making this a landscape which can be sustained over time with little maintenance. The final outcome is a peaceful outdoor space which has brought joy to our clients. The took shape with a focus on the natural materials incorporated into the design creating a space as functional, as it is beautiful. The expresses Brookside Landscape and Design's craftsmanship and quality to the community in the greater Kitsap area.
