Summary: NYC Suburb: Family-Friendly Elegance Situated in a tranquil New York City suburb, Julie Moir Messervy Design Studio’s ‘Family-Friendly Elegance’ landscaping qualifies as the ideal hybrid of sensible and beautiful design. Targeted to families in federal best cities like Alstead, Bellows Falls, and West Townshend, this was developed to be an oasis where people can celebrate visually stunning landscapes with their families and play. The JMMDS team initiated the with a site analysis and topographic context reflecting the climate of the area in which the was situated. The landscape featured beautiful native plants that improved the beauty of the landscape and ensured local biodiversity. Sustainability and durability were the focus of the materials selected, such as permeable pavers for the walks and patio areas that aided with drainage and were sustainable. The primary challenge was being able to provide children with safe, playful environments that also preserved the elegance of the design. This was done with whimsical features like a natural stone climbing wall and custom-styled tree house that were part of the landscape. A sensory garden with fragrant herbs and floricultural shades captivating an array of beautiful flowers would encourage children to engage with nature and become curious and inquisitive while breathing fresh air. The finished includes an elegant outdoor paradise comprised of a lush green lawn, fragrant beds of flowers, and inviting seating for families to congregate, relax, and enjoy the exterior beauty of their lives. The transformed the property while delighting the children’s families in a new style of outdoor living that embodied both elegance and playfulness. Family-Friendly Elegance characterizes the thoughtfulness of JMMDS’s commitment to detail and quality landscaping.
