This was a combination of nature and design, incorporating an outstanding assortment of hardscape and softscape to enhance the appearance of the residence. Begin by envisioning the end result, our skilled team began work with site discovery to understand the personality of the property and client. The center of focus was a custom stone patio which was made from locally sourced bluestone, to provide a natural gathering space without compromising sophistication. In addition to the patio, a meandering pathway was installed with clean granite pavers that guides guests through the naturalized gardens while observing native plants and trees adding beauty, uniqueness, and sustainability. Our challenge to resolve a sloped site also required inventive drainage to remove areas where water naturally gravitated, while homemade soil composting would erode if this was not handled. The installation of a French drain against the back house and along the roadside was expertly put in place, while maintaining the design of the site, and distorting the landscape by following the contour line of the garden through the lift of few irregular stones and drainage alongside the fence. This mitigation approach prevented further erosion of the natives and transplants. The client is thrilled for their transformation of peaceful outdoor amenity space by the water feature and foliage.
