About This Project

Brief: English Hills Residence The beautiful landscape at English Hills Residence, completed by Sam Millar, shows the connection between nature and artistry, designed to meet the specialized needs of our distinguished Seattle client. Situated in a splendid neighborhood, this changes an underperformed outdoor area to an amazing oasis. The design incorporates a planted palette of carefully selected native plants that provide sustainability and amplify the natural beauty of the area. Elevated natural stone pathways, constructed of local basalt stone, wind through various flower beds and other greenery to spice up exploration and restfulness. A stunning water feature with a waterfall is anchored on the site to provide spectacle and tranquility for all senses. The sloped terrain of the site created one of our biggest obstacles in the . We needed to keep erosion from occurring and keep it beautiful. The design team mastered a terrace technique using durable retaining walls from reclaimed timber to give the area structure while adding a rustic appeal. The end result is a harmonious combination of hardscape and softscape elements added to a cozy fire pit for entertaining. It all came together just right to represent Sam Millar’s insistence on quality. The transformation of the English Hills Residence enhances curb appeal and allows the homeowners to take advantage of an outdoor haven all year round. The clients were happy to have their expectations met in the form of beautiful and functional landscape, yet another installment by Sam Millar, in the wonderful Seattle area.
