The landscape includes many native plantings, including a diverse selection of perennials, shrubs, and ornamental grasses selected to thrive in the local climate. Organic mulch was used to improve soil health while presenting a nice, finished appearance to the garden beds, while assisting with water retention and limiting weed growth. The features a rootwad feature used as a beautiful focal point. This natural element of rustic beauty also serves a vital role in providing habitat for local wildlife, thereby enhancing local biodiversity. The rootwad, constructed of reclaimed materials, was built and located to enhance the natural flow through the garden, effectively guiding visitors through a harmonious experience within the habitat. Throughout the , Sam Millar and his team encountered steep slopes and restricted access for heavy machinery.
