The was a complete landscaping renovation that changed a typical yard into a relaxing retreat, with nature and modern elements working together. The began with a comprehensive site evaluation, allowing our team to assess the unique qualities of the site. Challenges included a heterogeneous upper back-yard that sat at an odd angle and competing tree canopy shading parts of the property. The creation of tiered garden beds not only provided elevation for visual diversity but also provided a desirable growing environment for many different plants. Using fine materials in its construction, local stone for the retaining walls provided sustainability and the best option for the overall ambiance of the landscape. The design contains a mixture of native plants like daylilies and ferns that thrive in the weather without intense requirements. We incorporated a meandering stone path to curate an invitation for exploration leading to a distinct seating area embraced by flowering shrubs and decorative grasses. A perfect little seat location for relaxation or gathering with guests. Completed with a pergola using sustainably harvested timber, the seating area provided abundant shade as well as sophisticated elegance. Lighting was of utmost consideration as well; the LED lighting was imagined and placed to help accentuate the more beautiful parts of the landscape while remaining safe in nighttime use. The final product turned out to be a beautiful cohesive design that not only represented the vision of the client but also made a beautiful supportive fit for the existing neighborhood.
