Summary: Tranquil Farmhouse by Lorax Design Group Located in Kansas, the Tranquil Farmhouse , completed by Lorax Design Group, exemplifies purposeful design married with the beauty of nature. Situated in the beautiful area that serves Fairway, Kansas City, and beyond, the elevated the site from a boring lot to a personalized retreat combining contemporary landscape architecture with charming rustic elements. The central feature of the site is a beautiful collection of native plants, selected thoughtfully to withstand the local climate and reach their full biodiversity potential. The drought-tolerant perennials and ornamental grasses make the site enjoyable to visitors, while also being easy to maintain and ecologically sustainable. A winding pathway of flagstone, sourced locally, provides access to various parts of the garden finely trimmed to mediate walking stick-thick, while also taking visitors away from the dining area on the wooden deck. One of the central site challenges was the slope of the site. The Lorax Design Group well dealt with the resulting drainage and visual issue through tiered planting beds combined with an ideal decorative dry creek bed in landscape design. In terms of the artistic side of landscaping, the end result exemplifies a nice combination of art and function. The garden captivates the visitor by the cozy wooden trellis climbing with vines and careful placement of boulders acting as focal points holding narratives. The complete sound-scape of running water, emitted from a custom-built fountain, acts as a relaxing backdrop to enjoying family time, entertaining friends, or simply unwinding under the glider. The complete quality of craftsmanship of the Lorax Design Group is evident from top to bottom. This not only left our client extremely happy, but created a new standard for landscaping in the Kansas City area, showcasing potentialities of transforming spaces into personalize sacred space through design.
