Berkeley Hills We are proud to showcase the Berkeley Hills by DVA Consulting and Design, a case of beautiful work and commitment to quality in landscaping. Situated on the hills of Berkeley, this consisted of an entire revamp of a landscape for a residence; functional yet also complementing its natural environment. Steep terrain, as well as unpredictable soil types, called for innovative design and engineering solutions. So we built terraced garden beds of local stone to retain walls, while using natural drainage designs to manage water runoff to mitigate erosion. The incorporation of native plants was critical, as these were selected for compatibility with the existing ecosystem to promote biodiversity and sustainability. At the heart of the is a bespoke patio, crafted from reclaimed timber and natural stone, creating a space perfect for lounging and entertaining. Together with it we added a free-flowing path of permeable pavers which appeals to the eye and allows water to pass through, supporting our ethos of environmentally friendly movements. We also planted a variety of flowering plants and shrubs that flower throughout the seasons to accent the landscape so that it remains interesting year-round. This is to highlight the commitment towards responsible resources management and helping to address water shortage issues by installing a tailor-made irrigation system to get the best out of water usage. The in the end product is the whole issue, an open air place-entry that seamlessly sits inside the ordinary landscape, giving the home owners with an area to host circle of relatives gatherings, peaceable evenings, and the beautiful perspectives of the Bay Area. The Berkeley Hills is a true reflection of DVA Consulting and Design’s abilities as a landscape architect and our keen eye for detail has brought client satisfaction. This represents the way we think design while reaffirming our commitment to enhancing the beauty and use of outdoor spaces in our numerous communities along the 80 corridor including Alameda, Oakland, and Vallejo!
