Hardscaped Side Yard by True North Landscaping True North Landscaping is excited to present the "Hardscaped Side Yard" which we recently completed in Indianapolis. This highlights not only our craftsmanship and unique design skills but also the transformation of an under-utilized side yard into a functioning, beautiful space. The process began with an extensive site analysis to assess the site conditions with the narrow and varying elevation of the side yard. Our team created a customized, cohesive design, utilizing long-lasting materials such as natural stone pavers, concrete edging, and decorative gravel for the hardscaping. These materials improve the aesthetic aspects of the design, but also their durability and accessibility. A significant aspect of the was the stylish pathway, connecting from the front of the home to the backyard of the house. The pathway is supported by flowering plants and low-maintenance shrubs that complement the hardscape, providing color and life, with a beautiful custom wood trellis that will provide vertical structure and act as support for climbing vines. One of the challenges associated with the side yard was managing drainage as the area would 'pool' during heavy rains. True North Landscaping addressed this with a French drain system that is barely present under the gravel installation, providing water management while maintaining an aesthetic expectation. The entire is a lovely design that demonstrates the functionality and elegance in the space. Our client expressed satisfaction with the space and indicated that the side yard had become their favorite place to unwind and host friends and family. The Hardscaped Side Yard will enhance the overall curb appeal of the home, while also increasing the overall property value.
